CeraVe Partners With Dermatologists, Pharmacies to Widen Market
CeraVe the world’s No.1 dermatologist recommended body moisturizer brand, is partnering with Kenyan dermatologists and pharmacies to drive uptake of the science-backed skin care product in Kenya.
CeraVe is targeted at people battling skin conditions like atopy, dry skin and psoriasis.
“At CeraVe, we work with dermatologists to develop products that are rooted in science and formulated with carefully selected ingredients responsive to consumer needs,” said Active Cosmetics Division business unit manager Edouard Homasson.
CeraVe is designed to restore and maintain skin barrier function for all through efficacy, safety, compliance and accessibility. To achieve this goal the brand is partnering with pharmacies to make the product more accessible to patients and consumers.
The brand, a product of L’Oréal, has so far listed MyDawa, Goodlife and other independent pharmacies as its key distribution partners in the market as it stirs similar partnerships with pharmacies all across the country.
“A growing body of evidence was suggesting that many dermatological skin concerns are associated with a decreased level of ceramides in skin and we came up with a solution to revolutionize skin treatment that has been hugely successful elsewhere in the world and now we are casting the net wider through strategic alliances to make it available in the Kenyan market,” said CeraVe brand manager Mary Wangari.
CeraVe is made using identical-skin cell lipids known as ceramides that replenishes and restore skin barriers by reducing moisture loss to relieve dryness. Through a multi–vesicular Emulsion technology, the product releases these ingredients gradually into the skin to keep it hydrated all day long with a single application.
The fragrance-free and non-irritating products are targeted at people with oily, dry, very dry and sensitive skins of all age-groups thus offering therapeutic skincare for all. Launched 13 years ago, CeraVe has lately gained popularity across the globe following acquisition of its manufacturing company by L’Oréal in 2017.
Clinical studies have shown that twice-daily usage of CeraVe leads in reduction of up to 78 percent of Atopic Dermatitis symptoms including itchiness and dryness. More than 60 percent of their eczema.
The products come in moisturizing lotions, creams, hydrating and smoothing cleanser.
