Schneider Electric Commits To Nurture Future Talent In The Industry

Schneider Electric™ Kenya, the global leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing the future leaders of sustainable energy through the Scholar Grid Challenge initiative.

The Scholar Grid Challenge, held for trainees at PC Kinyanjui Technical Training Institute, brought together bright, aspiring trainees who engaged in a rigorous competition to design a 10kVA renewable energy electrification system for under €5000. Two teams presented their innovations to a panel jury of judges, showcasing their ingenuity and vision, and exemplifying their dedication to driving impactful change in the renewable energy landscape.

During the initial phase of the competition, trainees were tasked with developing a concept note and received valuable mentorship from seasoned experts across Schneider Electric. This guidance not only enriched their understanding of renewable energy systems but also fostered a collaborative environment, bringing industry experience to the classroom to ensure knowledge and creativity flourished.

Acknowledging the impact the competition has had on the trainees, Mrs. Nancy Njui, School Principal at PC Kinyanjui said “The competition has not only challenged our trainees academically, but it has also fostered teamwork, critical thinking, and personal growth. The winning team will receive an additional $5,000 as prize money to further their endeavors.
